Affiliate Disclosure
How Fanorate makes money — and what that does (and doesn't) change about our coverage.

Fanorate.com ("Fanorate," "we," "us," or "our") is supported by affiliate commerce. This page explains what that means, who our affiliate partners are, and how the affiliate relationship affects (and does not affect) the editorial content you read on this site. It is published in compliance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising, 16 CFR Part 255.
The short version
Some links on Fanorate are affiliate links. If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase from the retailer at the other end, Fanorate may earn a commission. The commission is paid by the retailer, not by you — the price you pay is the same whether you use our link or go to the retailer directly.
Affiliate commissions support our journalism. They do not influence what we choose to cover, what we recommend, or what verdicts our reviews reach.
What an affiliate link is
An affiliate link is a hyperlink that contains a tracking parameter unique to Fanorate. When you click one, the destination retailer's website records that the visit came from us. If you make a qualifying purchase during that visit (or within a tracking window typically ranging from 24 hours to 30 days, depending on the retailer), the retailer pays Fanorate a commission on the purchase.
You do not pay more because of the affiliate relationship. The retailer's price is the retailer's price — Fanorate's link does not change it. We do not have access to your name, address, payment information, or any other personally identifying detail about your purchase. We see only aggregate, anonymized commission reporting from our affiliate partners.
How affiliate links are marked on Fanorate
Every article on Fanorate that contains affiliate links opens with a clear disclosure near the top, in plain English:
This article contains affiliate links. If you buy something through a link on this page, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Learn more.
Our product recommendation cards — the boxed product callouts inside articles — carry an "affiliate link" tag next to the call-to-action button. Inline text links to affiliate destinations are not separately marked within the body of an article, but the article-level disclosure at the top applies to every commercial link on the page.
Who our affiliate partners are
Fanorate participates in affiliate programs with authorized retailers and apparel manufacturers across the sports we cover. We add and remove programs over time as our coverage evolves and as brands enter or leave the categories we write about.
We work with retailers either directly or through major affiliate networks. If a specific brand or retailer is featured in one of our articles, the affiliate relationship governing that link is summarized in the article's disclosure block at the top.
The presence of any retailer in our coverage does not mean we recommend them in every context, and it does not mean we will link to them in every article. The relevant retailer for a given recommendation is the one our editorial team determines is the best place to buy that specific product — based on authenticity, price, availability, shipping, and return policy at the time of writing.
If you'd like to verify a specific partnership, email editor@fanorate.com.
How affiliate relationships do — and do not — influence our coverage
Affiliate relationships do not determine:
Which jerseys, kits, uniforms, or products we review — across any sport. Which retailers we feature in a buying guide. Which products we recommend in a round-up. Whether a review is positive, negative, or mixed. Whether a recommendation is to "skip this one."
Affiliate relationships do influence:
Whether the links in our articles are affiliate links or plain links. (Where we have an affiliate relationship with the retailer of choice, we use an affiliate link; where we don't, we don't.) The financial viability of Fanorate as an independent editorial publication.
The wall between editorial and commercial decisions at Fanorate is described in detail in our Methodology page. The short version: editorial decisions are made by editorial staff who have no visibility into commission rates and no input from commercial staff.
What we don't do
We do not accept payment in exchange for positive coverage. We do not accept payment for placement in a buying guide, round-up, or "best of" list. We do not publish sponsored articles disguised as editorial content. We do not publish coupon codes or "deal of the day" content. We do not run display advertising. We do not accept gifted product in exchange for coverage. We do not pre-screen articles with retailers, brands, or affiliate networks.
If any of the above ever changes, this page will be updated to reflect the change, and the change will be disclosed in writing at the top of this page.
Questions, concerns, complaints
If you believe an article on Fanorate has failed to comply with the disclosure standards described above, please write to editor@fanorate.com. We will investigate and respond within two business days.
If you have a question about how a specific affiliate commission was earned on a purchase you made, we are happy to explain our side of it. We cannot, however, provide refunds, returns, or order support — those are matters between you and the retailer you purchased from.
Changes to this disclosure
We may update this Affiliate Disclosure from time to time as our partner list or practices change. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to check this page periodically.
